# AIM Assistant

A chat helper built into AIM. Ask about your business in plain English, and it can also do work for you — check stock, pull reports, create purchase orders, manage listings — without navigating menus.

## What you can do here

* Ask questions about your stock, sales, and profit in plain language
* Have it do work for you — it always shows a preview and waits for your OK first
* Identify a shoe from a photo, or turn a PDF/CSV invoice into a purchase order
* Ask it how something works ("why isn't this publishing to Shopify?", "what does listable mean?")

## Buttons, fields, and controls

| Cancel | Action preview | Stops a proposed assistant action before anything changes. | Use it when the preview is wrong, incomplete, or no longer needed. |
| Upload | Assistant panel | Adds an image, CSV, PDF, or other file for the assistant to interpret. | Use it for shoe identification, invoices, packing lists, or purchase-order source files. |
| Thumbs up / Thumbs down | Assistant answer | Records whether the answer helped. | Use it when the answer was especially useful or clearly missed what you needed. |

## How to: Check on something (nothing changes)

1. Open the chat panel — click "AIM Assistant" in the sidebar (or press Shift+Tab on any page).
2. Type a plain-language question — include the product name or SKU, size, and location to get a precise answer on the first try.
3. Refer back to what you just asked — "list those on GOAT too" works.

<Tip title="Real-world example">
  "How many Jordan 1 Chicago do we have by size?" or "What's the lowest ask on SKU 555088-101?"
</Tip>

## How to: Ask it to do something (you approve first)

1. Describe the change in plain language.
2. The assistant shows a preview of exactly what it's about to do.
3. Press Confirm (or reply "confirm"). Nothing happens until you do. If the preview looks wrong, just say what to change.

<Tip title="Real-world example">
  "Create a draft purchase order for Vendor X: 12 pairs of DZ5485-612, sizes 8–12, \$180 each." Review the preview, then Confirm.
</Tip>

## How to: Get help understanding a screen or a term

1. Ask the assistant directly — it reads the same plain-language guides and glossary this Help drawer uses.
2. Try "what does this page do?", "how do tier prices work?", or "what needs my attention today?".

<Tip title="Real-world example">
  "What does listable mean?" returns the same plain definition you see in the Help drawer.
</Tip>

## Good to know

* The assistant never changes anything without your approval — it always previews first and waits for Confirm.
* Be specific: product name or SKU, size, and location get you a precise answer on the first try.
* Say "show more" to page through long lists.
* Use the 👍 / 👎 buttons on answers. After a 👎, choose "Contact support" to open a ticket with your question, the answer, conversation ID, and page already attached.
* It can't undo a confirmed action, so double-check previews before confirming. It also can't do things outside AIM (it won't email vendors or change your Shopify theme).
